Thomas Sperbeck named to week one Paul Hornung Award honor roll

It’s a major award!

Thomas Sperbeck—catcher of passes and scorer of touchdowns, is already a Biletnikoff Award watch lister, but added a nice little accolade to his...um...accolade pouch(?) today as he was named to the Paul Hornung Award week 1 honor roll.

As you’ll no doubt recall, Sperbeck had himself quite a day on Saturday as he hauled in 6 receptions for 130 yards and a score against UL-Lafayette, and also tossed a picture-perfect 48-yard TD strike to Jeremy McNichols against the overmatched Ragin’ Cajuns. The Paul Hornung Award is awarded annually to the most versatile player in college football, but Sperbeck was not on the award’s watch list before the season. Clearly, that doesn’t mean he can’t get a little love for his efforts by the award commission, however. Furthermore, Sperbeck is off to a pretty great start to his senior season—now needing just 605 yards to surpass Titus Young as Boise State’s all-time receiving yards leader. WTG, Thomas—fill that accolade pouch!*
