In a good opportunity for Boise State to knock off some running rust, the no. 16 Broncos men’s cross country team finished in second place at the Sagebrush Invitational last Saturday in Utah.

The Sagebrush Invitational consisted of, mostly, Utah schools with Utah State, Southern Utah, Utah Valley, Utah, and Westminster College vying for the win. Mr. Michael Vennard was the top finisher for the Mountain West Conference (fourth place overall) with a time of 21:10 on the 7k course.

To honor that accomplishment, the Mountain West highlighted Vennard this week along with Bailee Parker of Utah State (who won the women’s side). This is the first weekly award for the Englishman.

The Broncos have three more races that include the Wisconsin adidas Invitational and another trip to Utah with the Utah State Invitational.

Boise State gets to host the Mountain West Conference cross country championships on October 28th at Falcon Crest Golf Course in Kuna, Idaho.
