The Broncos’ soccer team has been given some new life thanks to the early conference slate. With a win against Wyoming and Colorado State, the Broncos have finally notched their first wins since their season opener against Idaho State.

Ms. Raimee Sherle, from Meridian, Idaho, has played an instrumental role in both of those wins. Scoring the only goal, while the Broncos shut out Wyoming. Sherle also scored the golden goal against Colorado State, securing the win 2-1.

Both of those efforts, and wins, did not go unnoticed by the good folks at the Mountain West Conference. For the first time this year, a Bronco has been recognized as the Offensive Player of the Week.

Ms. Sherle has been a crucial addition for the Broncos. In just her true Freshman year, she has started 10 games while appearing in all 11. She has six goals (tied for first on the squad with Ms. Eva Herrera), with 11 shots on goal. She is also tied for first on the team with 12 fouls (tied with Ms. Michelle Reed). Have to admire that aggressiveness.

While the accolades have been a little lite this year for the squad, they are learning how to win. Hopefully this momentum carries with them the rest of the way!
