There were three blind mice. There were three musketeers. Three strikes and you are out. Three points to a triangle. Three. It’s a pretty good number. And now there are 3 days until Boise State football. I am giddy. So giddy that I want to talk about Chanceller James.

How'd he get to the Blue™?
Chanceller James was pretty good at football while in high school. He had earned at least an Honorable Mention nod since his sophomore year. In his last hear at Steele Canyon, he had recorded 80 tackles, five interceptions, and had a fumble recovery for a touchdown. To which he also earned all-academic honors his senior season. He had a lot of stats added to his sheet. And the Broncos decided to give him some more opportunities. He also had offers from Pac-12 schools such as Arizona, Arizona State, and Colorado. He chose correctly.

Career Highlights
In the two years he has been able to play (redshirt his first year, then got injured his RS Freshman year) he’s been pretty active. He has 91 total tackles (58 solo), three sacks, seven tackles-for-loss, a fumble recovery, and six passes defended. He was also the Boise State Special Teams Scout Player of the Year.
2016 Prospectus
This should be the year that Mr. James puts everything together and ascends to his “final form.” If his progression matches that of his high school years (so far so good) then we should be seeing a successful one that has him raking in the tackles, a bunch of sacks, and a few interceptions. Heck, maybe even an all-Mountain West Conference nod.
But are we going to get it?
The start of the year is already a bit rocky. Mr. James had missed the spring scrimmage due to some poor choices. As we see in the newly-released depth chart we know that he is actually sharing the Free Safety spot with RS Freshman Evan Tyler and the “OR” designation. Mr. Tyler has certainly made some strides to be put in that same spot as James as a RS Freshman. Tyler’s development must be coming along. That or there may be some lingering “problems” from that earlier suspension. Dylan Sumner-Gardner’s unique situation warranted its own press release from the Broncos, but nothing else was said, by Coach Harsin, regarding further suspension for James. So, I feel confident when saying this, James will be starting week one versus Louisiana Tech. He will then have something to prove and proceed to do some damage in the secondary.
Is he on Twitter?
Yep.

Completely made up fact
In 2014 a woman on vacation in Iceland went missing. During the search, it was discovered that she was actually in her own search party. Chanceller James was the one that put those two things together.
