You know what makes another, dull, Hump Day even more exciting? A Boise State recruit announcing that he has committed to play for Boise State!
I'm excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Boise State!!!! #gobroncos #atf pic.twitter.com/5arCL5LXq5

Mr. Zarrek “Zeke” Birch hails from Rexburg, Idaho and is currently a defensive tackle for Madison High School. He’s a big-bodied prospect, already standing at 6’ 5” and 270 lbs. As a junior for the Bobcats he recorded 56 tackles, 23 of which were solo. He had four sacks and a whopping 8.5 tackles for loss!
Birch is listed as a two-star prospect on Scout and 247Sports while currently unrated by Rivals. His recruiting has gone a little slow despite his ability on the field, but he’s still drawn interest from BYU, Idaho State, Portland State, Weber State, and our friend Jeff Choate at Montana State.
Mr. Birch will be a welcome addition to the Broncos as the team has been adding some girth to the defensive front line (literally and figuratively). Though nothing is final until he signs his name on the dotted line (reminder: this is just a non-binding verbal commitment), as he enters his final year of high school his recruiting will undoubtedly pick up as more teams look at his abilities.
Congratulations to Mr. Birch and welcome!
Watch his highlight reel. He is no. 76 and my goodness he looks like a man among boys.
