It has begun. If you aren’t excited now, go fill up your tub with ice and water and dunk yourself. Bronco football is upon us! With that comes the seniors in high school looking to play at the next level. They have also started league play and we’ll be checking in on our future Broncos. Let’s get to it!
Jermani Brown, ATH, Midlothian HS (Midlothian, VA)
Unfortunately, Brown’s Trojans suffered a 28-0 loss at the hands of Freeman on Friday. Brown, however, had a solid night with 7 receptions for 50 yards as well as an interception and a tackle for loss. The cross-country move didn’t seem to have much affect on the playmaker. Hopefully the Trojans can bounce back on Thursday against visiting Powhatan. Good luck Jermani!
Marques Evans, DB, Newbury Park HS (Newbury Park, CA)
Evans’ Panthers won a high scoring contest with Pacifica 65-44 on Friday. I couldn’t find specific stats for Evans, but I did have 5 minutes of highlights for him in the game!
Zeke Birch, DT, Madison HS (Rexburg, ID)
Zeke’s Madison Bobcats cruised to an easy 48-7 win over Lake City on Friday. Lake City avoided the shut out by scoring in the 4th with 6 seconds left. Stats couldn’t be found for Zeke. Madison travels to Idaho Falls Friday the 2nd.
Aisa Kelemete, DE, Highland HS (Pocatello, ID)
Aisa’s Rams lost a close one to Lewiston last night 38-45. I don’t believe Asia played, though that’s an assumption based on a recent tweet:

I don’t know the extent of the injury, but I hope he recovers fully and quickly! Next up for the Rams is a trek to Eagle High on Friday.
Isiah Moore, OT, Mesa CC (Mesa, AZ)
Moore’s Thunderbirds had a bye this week and open league play at Phoenix College on Saturday the 3rd.
Breydon Boyd, LB, Katy HS (Katy, TX)
Boyd’s Tigers lost a heart breaker to Westlake on Friday 29-32. It’s the first opener Katy has lost since 2008. Stats for Breydon could not be found. Katy looks to get into the win column on Saturday the 3rd vs Klein Collins HS.
Michael Young, DB, Dodge City CC (Dodge City, KS)
Mike’s Conquistadors lost to Highland CC 26-16 on Saturday. Mike had 6 total tackles, 5 solo along with 2 pass breakups. Not a bad outing to start the season! Dodge City get Iowa Central at home next saturday.
Chase Cord, QB, Sunrise Mountain HS (Peoria, AZ)
Cord and the Mustangs demolished Buckeye on Friday 49-0. Chase had a stellar night with 5 TDs in the first half. Yup. One half. Five. I’m still trying to find specific stats, but so far to no avail. I’ll update if I can find anything. Sunrise Mountain travels to Casa Grande this Friday.
Mike Young, OT, Queen Creek HS (Queen Creek, AZ)
Mike’s Bulldogs have already played two games. They beat Cesar Chavez HS on Friday the 19th 31-21. They lost to Hamilton this Friday 50-24. That leaves them at 1-1 for the season. Versus Cesar Chavez, he had 3 total tackles and against Hamilton he had one. The Bulldogs travel to Sahuaro on Friday. A side note, Mike’s MaxPreps profile has him listed at 6’6 345lbs...
From now until signing day we will do weekly updates on the Bronco commits for the 2017 class. Sometimes information can be hard to come by, but I’ll do my best. If you do happen to have info that I’m missing, don’t hesitate to let us know so we can get it updated in the article.
Looking forward to an awesome season for our Broncos as well as our 2017 commits! GO BRONCOS!
