Boise State is growing
Not sports-related, but definitely relevant to the university. It’s such a crazy jump from even just 10 years ago, when I was a freshman.
Post-practice yesterday
Boise State football coach Bryan Harsin met with media today. Video, plus a bit on scrimmage, freshmen, Big 12, etc.https://t.co/peOQG0qMwG

Aside from some great tidbits about BSU’s season-opening opponent, he has some pretty sobering perspectives about the situation in Louisiana right now, as well as some very cool stories of people being awesome in response to it. Positive thoughts/prayers/vibes to those affected.
In case you missed it: Another former walk-on awarded a scholly!
These will never stop being awesome announcements to me. Not that scholarship guys haven’t earned what they’re given, but they do have a much higher degree of security. I have tremendous respect for players that hang on and grind, in spite of not having that guarantee. Props also to any families and friends that may help them in their journey. Today, however, specifically, congratulations to Matt Cota!
Broncos in the NFL
From what I saw of the games tonight, I have a few takeaways:
—Jay Ajayi is entrenched as the starter in Miami. He got the majority of the carries, and his primary competition, former all-pro Arian Foster, only had 2 totes for -5 yards.
—Kellen Moore may have a tough time reclaiming the number 2 spot in Dallas, when healthy. His replacement (so far), Dak Prescott threw for 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions last week, and this week, he did the same, completing all but 3 of his pass attempts. He also added 2 scores on the ground.
Because ‘What have you done for me lately?’ is especially true in the fickle machinations of fandom and front offices in the NFL, I’m starting to be very concerned for what this could mean for Kellen’s future in Dallas.
—On the brighter side, Tyrone Crawford had a sack last night, and continues to show his massive (literally and figuratively) potential.
Also, in case you missed: Boise State has no remaining competitors in Rio
With George Ivanov’s elimination, all Broncos are done...this time around. But, like sand people, they’ll be back. And in greater numbers.
So, uh...anyone else super anxious for the season to start?
