Today we get to meet one of the incoming freshman and this one is important. Depth at QB is mineiscule, and #32 Jake Constantine will be a welcome addition.
#32, Jake Constantine, True Freshman, QB
Stats
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 185 lbs
High School: Camarillo High School, Camarillo, CA
How'd he get to the Blue™?
There have been lots of questions regarding why Jake was available so late. I don't care about those questions. I care about the fact that he was available when we needed a QB and he committed to the Broncos. I also care about the fact that he threw for 3,988 yards, 51 TD to just 6 INTs and completed 72.2% of his passes as a senior at CHS. The Broncos were his lone offer, though I have no idea why.

Career Highlights
Jake lead his Camarillo team to a 15-1 record and the CIF Southern Section Northern Division title. That win earned them a spot in the CIF State Division II-AA Football Championship Bowl, but suffered their lone loss. He was also named 2015 CIF Southern Section Northern Division Offensive Player of the Year, selected to the Cal-Hi Sports All-State Medium Schools Team and named Camino League POY.
2016 Prospectus
The QB job is all but locked up. Rypien will be the QB for at least 2 more years, but the depth behind him is, well, there isn't much depth. Tommy Stuart is in his last season as a Bronco and he will see plenty of field time as the main backup, presumably. I expect Stuart to get plenty of reps, specifically in option packages.
Behind Stuart is walk-on Anthony Upshaw. I do not anticipate Upshaw seeing the field a TON, but if they want to keep Jake's red shirt intact, they might play him late in blowouts. I dare not speculate the situations that would thrust Jake into the spotlight. He did very well his senior year at Camarillo, but the college game is very different. Rypien is definitely special, and being able to come in and play as a true freshman is not something that just anyone can do.
If there were a chance for Jake to play as a true freshman, this year as a Bronco is it. With so little depth at the position, I can very easily see the coaches burning his red shirt.
Is he on Twitter?
He is, and he's very giving.

Completely made up fact
Growing up, Jake's favorite actor was Keanu Reeves, his favorite movie, the Matrix. The stars aligned for him in 2005 when, he assumed, Keanu made a movie about him. Unfortunately, he was wrong.
