You guys...we've made it through the 90s!! We still have a long way to go, but we're making progress. Let's touch base with #89 Brock Barr.
#89, Brock Barr, Junior, WR
Weight: 204 lbs
High School: Shasta College (Redding, CA)
How'd he get to the Blue™?
Brock went the JC route out of high school, electing to go to Shasta College for 2 years. He red shirted his freshman year and finished his sophomore campaign with 42 catches for 780 yards and 6 TDs. That left him with 3 to play 3 once he walked-on at Boise State. Brock didn't record a catch last season.
He looks like a surfer to me, what can I say?
I think maybe a young Scott Wolf bears a resemblance.
As I stated a bit earlier, he has not seen live-action for the Broncos yet, but he hauled in 42 passes for 780 yards and 6 TDs as a sophomore at Shasta College.
With the departure of Shane Williams-Rhodes, there is a vacancy in the starting position. I believe SWR mainly lined up at slot, and I don't really envision Brock as a slot guy, but when we get into the nitty gritty of positions, I'm not so great with info. So maybe he fits there? Regardless of whether he plays there or not, he has plenty of competition from other walk-ons as well as plenty of scholarship players. Cedrick Wilson could very well come in and nab the spot.
Brock's height could play a factor as he is one of the taller receivers. That definitely is no guarantee of play time, but it could help for sure. Fall camp will be telling as spring didn't reveal anything we didn't already know, that is, Sperbeck and Chaz are the dudes, but behind them is open. Modster and Richardson had great springs along with Wilson. To say Brock will have an uphill battle is an understatement, but Boise State is where walk-ons can thrive.
Is he on Twitter?
Yes indeedy! And it looks like his sweetheart takes good care of him, too!
Completely made up fact
Growing up, Brock as a fan of board games like checkers and chess. As he grew older, he also grew bored of them as he became quite adept at them. In college, he decided to combine all of the games he adored so much as a kid. Chinese Backcheckerchess hasn't quite caught on at Boise State...yet.
