Boise State numerical roster countdown 2016: Day 70, Steven Baggett

NCAA Football: Poinsettia Bowl- Boise State vs Northern Illinois Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Well it’s the last day of the seventies with only 70 days until kickoff. So in that spirit let us talk about another offensive lineman Steven Baggett!

#70, Steven Baggett, RS Senior, OL

Stats:

Height: 6’ 3”

Weight: 297 lbs (+2)

High School: Martin High School, Arlington, TX

How'd he get to the Blue™?

Mr. Baggett was Mr. Consistency coming out of high school. He had started 38 games. He was an honorable mention all-district his sophomore and junior seasons. His senior year he was first team all-area and first team all-district his senior year. He was a three star-recruit for Scout and 247Sports and a two-star for rivals. He had offers from New Mexico State, Western Kentucky, Air Force, and Boise State. Chose the best one obvs.

Nickname

“Steph”

Mr. Baggett is a lot like the Golden State star Steph Curry: they both are known for their three-pointers.

Look-a-like

In a few years, this is what Mr. Baggett has going for him: a love for the Chuck E. Cheese business-model and public service.

Career Highlights

Mr. Baggett started/appeared in 32 games since his RS freshman year for the Broncos. In that span he has also helped lead the Broncos to the top-ranking total offense for the Mountain West the last two years. He made the Mountain West All-Academic team twice, and won the Mountain West scholar-athlete award twice as well.

2016 Prospectus

Well this is an easy one: Mr. Baggett is going to start, most likely at right guard. But, again, things happen and there will always be shuffles on the line just depending how the the year goes. The Broncos’ three-deep at the right guard last year had Baggett then Kevin Buhr, and Tennessee Su’esu’e. Buhr is still around (he seems like one of those guys that have just been around forever) but Su’esu’e had to retire due to a medical condition. The Broncos staff has really been emphasizing size in the recent offensive line offerings (two OL commitments as of this writing are already 6’ 5”, 6’ 6” 315, 330 lbs respectively). Physically they are getting guys who are already the size. The goal will be to get them ready at a moment’s notice.

Is he on Twitter?

He is on Twitter. And none too fond of sleeping. My favorite past-time.

Completely made up fact

Steven Baggett enjoyed the Warcraft movie.
