We're just about done with the 80s guys! Time is just flying by this time. No? Phew, then we have more time to enjoy the countdown! Let's check in on #80 Akilian Butler.
#81, Akilian Butler, RS Sophomore, WR
Stats
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 186 lbs. (+6)
High School: West Mesquite High School, Dallas, TX
How'd he get to The Blue™?
Akilian made his way to Boise through the West Mesquite pipeline. Not sure if that is still a thing since he was the last recruit we signed from there, but I digress. He passed on offers from Clemson, Colorado and SMU to come to Boise State. Anytime a kid passes on programs like that, I'm a fan.
Nickname
"Dynamite"
I guess you could say he has some pretty sweet moves.

Career Highlights
Akilian was rated one of the top 25 players in the Midland Region of Texas by Scout AND the #25 WR in Texas. He finished his senior season with 48 catches for 686 yards, 12 TDs and earned himself first-team 10-4A All District. He played in 10 games for the Broncos last year, hauling in 2 passes for 21 yards and had 2 carries for 13 yards and his first collegiate TD against Washington.
2016 Prospectus
Akilian is in a good position. While he didn't see a lot of action as far as hands-on time with the ball, he saw a fair amount of time on the field. That will play a huge role this year for him. With Sperbeck and Chaz poised to be in the spotlight, but also graduating, Akilian has gained some valuable experience and could easily move into the SWR-type role.
He's a bit bigger than SWR was, but has the same shifty moves and quick change of direction. That certainly suits the slot position. He'll have plenty of competition from Richardson, Modster, and Wilson, among many others, but Butler has the talent and athleticism to see some field time.
Is he on Twitter?
Yes he is, and he loves his pops!

Completely made up fact
Akilian was bored over the last few months, that is, while he wasn't studying, and decided to pick up Chinese juggling sticks. It's safe to say he's found a life-long hobby full of opportunity and exercise!
