Boise State Game Balls for Week of May 22nd

Look at these Broncos go!

Track and Field: 42nd Prefontaine Classic Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

You may have (read: should have) noticed that Game Balls was gone from last week. Well since Boise State does not have baseball (yet) the only active sports that are still going is track & field. So, funnily enough, this weeks edition is going to have that feel.

On to the Game Balls!

Game Ball One:

Brenna Peloquin (track)

One of the Bronco freshman that is making quite the name for themselves this year. Ms. Peloquin will be representing the Broncos at the NCAA nationals for the 10,000 meters when she ran a seventh-place finish time of 34:25.45. You may all remember that the 10,000 meters is the former Bronco Emma Bates' specialty. Well Ms. Peloquin will the only freshman on the women's side running the 10k. She may be able to make a four year run at this thing. That would be pretty special.

Congratulations Ms. Brenna Peloquin.

Game Ball Two:

Minttu Hukka (track)

Ms. Hukka ran the 3,000 meter steeplechase for the Broncos and got an 11th overall finish with a time of 10:13.48. Academically she's a sophomore but, for some reason, counts as a freshman for this outdoor season. So that's cool. Ms. Hukka can help bring some more hardware for the Broncos to end the year.

Congratulations Ms. Hukka!

Game Ball Three:

David Elliott (track)

david elliott

Mr. Elliott is going to finish his Bronco career with a pretty full resumé. To go along with NCAA appearances in indoor this season he gets a chance to add the outdoor season as well. The weekend saw Mr. Elliott clock in at a second-place finish in the 1,500 meter with a time of 3:46.46. Really looking forward to Mr. Elliott adding another all-american title to his repertoire.

Congratulations Mr. Elliott!

Your turn

We are this close to putting away our Game Balls for the year. Anyone else have any good performances to humble-brag about?
