The regular season's have ended for men's and women's tennis. As well as the beach volleyball league. Guys. The Boise State sports year is almost done and we'll have to fill these big voids in some other fashion!!! On to Game Balls!!!
Game Ball One:
Hanna Kantenwein (tennis)
The Broncos were able to end the regular season on a four-match winning streak. And the last week saw the freshman step up and get some crucial wins. Though she suffered some pairs losses, she was able to rally in singles and come away with some much needed wins for the Broncos in the first spot. Very much a fantastic way for the freshman to end the regular season and make a way into the Mountain West Conference championships. Congratulations Ms. Kantenwein.
Game Ball Two:
Thomas Tenreiro (tennis)
It was a busy week for the Broncos tennis team as they had three matches over the span. And quite the run since March 12th. The Broncos men's team has gone 10-2 since that date with losses to Utah State and Nevada. But the Broncos have had more reasons to celebrate. Namely Mr. Tenreiro putting in some work. He nabbed wins in doubles and singles against the UNLV Rebels. Then last Saturday (Senior Day) he was also able to come away with victories over Gonzaga and the University of Idaho. He heads into the MWC championships on a pretty awesome tear and hopes to end his senior campaign right. Good luck Mr. Tenreiro!
Game Ball Three:
Samantha Martin (golf)
Another senior Bronco looking to end her Boise State career on the right foot performs admirably at the MWC championships. While UNLV took the overall crown, Ms. Martin was able to end the competition tied for Bronco-best tenth. That tenth place finish increases her own school record of top 25 wins to 29 total. The next step for Ms. Martin is NCAA regionals. Hopefully she will get an invite.
Game Ball Four:
Maddy O’Donnell/Hannah Hubbard
Saturday was a pretty rough day, weather-wise, for some beach volleyball. However it was NOT a rough day for the Broncos and winning. In fact Boise State did not drop one match throughout the entire all-Idaho exhibition. Must be thanks to the grueling all-traveling schedule the Broncos had in the regular season. So with that, the Game Ball will go to the pair of Broncos at the top of the order against Northwest Nazarene. Can't really go wrong with any of the Broncos so getting the duo who had to kick things off with the brunt of the yucky weather get the nod. Congratulations!
Your Turn
The season year is almost done. Not too many of these are left to go. Anyone think of any others?
