We all know that choosing to attend Boise State over other former flagship universities makes you a smart cookie, but now the Broncos can prove it. Today, the NCAA released their single-season and multi-year APR (Academic Progress Rate) scores and the Broncos find themselves in familiar territory. The good kind of territory.
All told, 13 Bronco athletic programs posted perfect APR scores (1,000 pts) for the 2014-2105 academic year. Those programs were: men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s golf, women’s golf, gymnastics, soccer, swimming & diving, women’s tennis, men’s indoor track & field, men’s outdoor track & field, women’s indoor track & field, women’s outdoor track & field and volleyball.
Furthermore, nine other programs set multi-year records for APR, including the wrestling team with a 980. Academic Progress Rate accounts for a host of factors, including eligibility, retention and graduation.
The Bronco football team, which is no stranger to the heights of the APR mountain, finished 2nd in the Mountain West in multi-year APR—behind Air Force, and inside the top-15 in the country with a 982 score. Men's basketball posted an APR score (960) 10 points higher than a year ago and 20 points higher than two years ago.
Women's golf and women's tennis both received Public Recognition Awards from the NCAA for finishing in the top-10 in their respective sports, APR-wise.
A round of applause for our Bronco student-athletes getting it done on the field, court, pool, track, etc...and the classroom. You're invalidating Vandal joke fodder each and every year.
