It's Game Balls!!

Game Ball One:

Laney Hayes / Jayme-Lee Bulda (beach volleyball)

The Bronco duo is undefeated on the season at the no. 5 spot for Boise State. On April 3rd, they beat Stanford's Tami Alade and Karina Robinson in three sets,18-21, 21-9, 15-7. Then on April 9th, they beat the St. Mary's duo of Hannah Liserra and Hallie Sullivan to the tune of 21-12, 21-17. They ended that Saturday with yet another win over Stanford's Robinson and Alade in only two sets this time, 21-14, 21-15. They have been a constant for the Broncos in the third year. Congratulations to the pair for their Game Ball!

Game Ball Two:

Toby Mitchell (tennis)

Mr. Mitchell was able to clinch two Bronco's victories last week. One victory at New Mexico in the no. 3 slot and a doubles win with Kyle Butters over the #77 ranked pair of Hayden Sabatka and Rodolfo Jauregui. And then followed up that performance with a win over Fresno State's Euan McIntosh in the no. 3 slot and a doubles win with Mr. Butters. The Broncos have been getting a head of steam as they close out the regular season and awaiting the Mountain West Championships at the end of April. Congratulations Mr. Mitchell!

Game Ball Three:

Samantha Martin (golf)

Golf is such a game of skill that being able to rally from behind and make a run can be difficult. But that is exactly what Ms. Martin did at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic. Martin was able to move nine spots in the final day and end at a Bronco-high tied for sixth with a two over par 218. As a team, the Broncos finished tied for fourth with Nevada. (Side note: Idaho won the tournament. Ew.) At any rate Ms. Martin has been able to get it done when it matters, so a (golf ball sized) Game Ball she gets!

Game Ball Four:

Bobbi Oshiro (tennis)

In a rough match on April 8th, the senior Bronco was able to open the conference schedule with a nice win at the no. 1 slot. The 7-5 over the Lobos' Andrea LaBlanc at least gave the Broncos a chance to take the match. Alas, the Broncos fell short 5-2. But Ms. Oshiro was able to make it a challenge. Congratulations on the Game Ball!

Game Ball Five:

Nicole Wilson (softball)

Ms. Wilson has been getting work done as a Broncos' starter. Against UNLV on Friday, April 8th it took just an hour and sixteen minutes to end the game. Wilson allowed three hits and did not walk anyone. Mix that in with the batters scoring ten times, that makes for an early game recipe as they called it after five innings. The Broncos have had struggles with getting large leads and inadvertently letting them slip away, so it is nice when a big win comes together. Congratulations Ms. Wilson!

Your Turn

Not including the football spring game guys since it was not a "real" game. But you guys are more than welcome. Who did I miss?
