Today is the day the Boise State University men's basketball team tries to make it through the Mountain West Conference tournament unscathed. First up? Colorado State.
You may remember the... unpleasantness... from the last time Boise State played Colorado State. A game that Boise State, in all manner of speaking, should have won. But did not. And it was legitimately because of referees incorrectly relying on faulty technology.
While the game did not really impact a whole lot regarding where Boise State ended up in the final seedings, it certainly did not help. There were a couple of other winnable games that the Broncos had dropped that could have put them higher in the rankings. Be that as it may, the Broncos were still able to get the coveted first round bye of the MWC tournament. And, at this point, is all that matters.
Broncos fans would be better off remembering the first time that the two schools played each other. A more amiable result. Hopefully the outcome of this game is a positive one for the Broncos so the Thursday night of all those watching will not be ruined. The women's team had their season end quite abruptly even though they battled back. Let us hope the men can carry on!
The game tips off at 9:30 p.m. MST on the CBS Sports Network. If you cannot watch, you can listen online at BroncoSports.com (if I can find the link, I will make sure to post it here pre-game).
