National Signing Day MegaThread

The future is bright.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

All the hand-wringing and recruit-wrangling is over. Boise State will start receiving letters of intent any moment now and the future looks awfully bright in Bronco Nation. There are sure to be some surprises today, so stay tuned. We'll have team coverage of all the fesitivities from now through the NSD bash at Big Al's this evening. Grab a cup of coffee and let's get things going.

Update: 10:15am

First bad surprise of the day after the good surprises of Jalen Walker, Jabari Watson, and Bubba Ogbebor; expected JuCo DL signee Josh Fatu calls a NSD audible and inks with Trojans. Now he'll never get to see the cool graphic I made for him...his loss.

Oh, and it looks like maybe the Broncos didn't get a whole lot of notice about Fatu's change of heart...

Update: 1:00pm

Another signing day surprise of a different sort, as it appears another former Bronco will return "home" to coach at his alma mater, according to FootballScoop.com. Former Bronco standout Gabe Franklin appears to be leaving El Paso and his position at UTEP for an as-yet-unidentified position on the defensive staff. You'll remember that Ashley Ambrose already has taken Julius Brown's vacated DBs coach gig, but Andy Avalos's promotion to DC left another open spot. We'll fill you in once we know more about the move.

Update: 3:00pm

Possibly the last (at least mild) surprise of the day as DL Curtis Weaver announces for the Broncos. Luckily, I had the foresight to make him a snazzy graphic. Eat your heart out, Nostradamus. Fatu or no Fatu, the Bronco coaching staff saw a position of need on the D-line and knocked recruiting out of the park.
