The Colorado State Rams are in town for some shooty hoops action this fine New Year's Eve and the interior of Taco Bell Arena is much, much warmer than the exterior, so get down there if you'd like to watch the ball tip a few hours before another one drops. CSU's basketball team is hoping to have better success in Boise than their football team, who not only lost to Boise State on The Blue during the regular season, but also suffered the indignity of losing to Idaho there on the 22nd. Boise State also has a reckoning in mind given that Fort Collins was the site of the well-publicized "stopwatch" game that robbed them of a conference win...and of course, it was those same Rams that bounced the Broncos from the MWC tourney.
The Broncos will focus on shutting down Gian Clavell and Emmanuel Omogbo primarily, who average 13.4 and 12.1 PPG, respectively...and Omogbo is currently averaging a double-double as well. Three Broncos are averaging double-digit points per game currently, led by junior Chandler Hutchison's 17.8. Nick "the bird is the word" Duncan has been good for 10.8 and PG Paris Austin is right behind with 10.2. True frosh Justinian Jessup is right there on the cusp as well, with 9.8 points per contest to his name.
How to watch
The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 via the ESPN app or WatchESPN.com. Conversely, the game will be on your local radio dial at 670 KBOI or streaming here if that's your cup of tea.
