Broncos run over Bengals

NCAA Basketball: Idaho State at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

Final: Boise State 82, Idaho State 59

It’d been nearly two weeks since the Broncos had been in action, but they looked no worse for wear dispatching the visiting Idaho State Bengals with a strong second half. As expected, ISU’s Ethan Telfair was the high scorer for the Bengals, and in fact led all scorers with 19 points—but BSU’s Chandler Hutchison was close behind with a Bronco best 16 points. The big difference in the matchup was the help provided by each team’s sidekicks and Hutchison was nearly joined in double digits by 4 teammates (David Wacker ended up with 9), whereas the Bengals had just 2 other players reach that plateau and no others had more than 6.

Nick Duncan had 15 points, all in the first half, behind 4-of-8 three-point shooting and freshman Justinian Jessup and sophomore Paris Austin chipped in 14 and 10, respectively. The biggest discrepancy in the contest was on the boards, with the Broncos hauling in 41 rebounds to ISU's 24. Full scoring stats can be found at the bottom of the article, but before you head down there to crunch numbers, take a look at this sweet one-handed slam by Chandler Hutchison. See ya on Wednesday night!
