Boise State Game Balls for week of October 30th

NCAA Football: San Jose State at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

Hey guys! Hope you had a great weekend. Things got done this week. Let us get to it!

Game Ball One:

Sierra Nobley (volleyball)

Kind of a no-brainer on this one. Again. The Broncos only had one match last week. It was a against the Utah State Aggies. And the Broncos collected, yet, another win and another sweep. That’s the eight sweep in the last nine matches for those counting. Ms. Nobley collected a league-leading 14th double-double, 14 kills, 10 digs. The lady is a beast on the court and it shows. Now if only UNLV would drop a match, or two, so the Broncos could have first-place in the Mountain West Conference all to themselves. The Broncos are 32 right now in the NCAA RPI. That is good news for any sort of post-season expectation.

Game Ball Two:

Alexander Mattison (football)

This one could have gone to a host of Broncos. Jeremy McNichols for this 158 yards and two touchdowns. Moxey for his three pass breakups. Ben Weaver with his 15 tackles. I decided to go with the future of Bronco running backs and, oh my, he is going to be such a stud. He got a hundred, well-deserved, yards against San Jose State and a touchdown. I am legitimately excited to see what he is going to do in the future. And if McNichols comes back next year (yeah, I know, big if) that will be an insane backfield.

Game Ball Three:

Demetrius Romero (wrestling)

Under new head coach Mike Mendoza, the Broncos opened their season at the Cowboy Open. Mr. Romero made it all the way to the finals against Air Force’s Alexandre Lopouchanski (via a major decision, medical forfeit, and a decision). Though Romero had the championship in sight at 165, he ended up falling 4-2. His finish was the best for the Broncos as two others got to third place matches. With a new head coach (and Geordan Martinez moving on) the Broncos look to go back to their winning ways.

Well. What else happened? Chime in and let me know!
