2017 Boise State Recruiting Roundup: 11/7/16

NCAA Football: San Jose State at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

It’s nice to get back in the win column, isn’t it? After a rough week last week suffering from a loss, it was great gettin’ the dub and protecting the Blue. It wasn’t always pretty, but they got it done!

Let’s check in on the soon-to-be Broncos!

Jermani Brown, ATH, Midlothian HS (Midlothian, VA)

Midlothian finished their football season with a hard-fought W, finishing at 3-7, 1-5 in districts. They defeated Clover Hill 21-20 on an intercepted extra point by none other than Jermani Brown. He also had 2 receptions for 67 yards and a TD

Jermani’s final stats aren’t complete. The Richmond Times has some, but not his defensive stats. It looks like he had 12 receptions for 146 yards and 3 TDs and 3 INTs. No tackles or PBUs were attributed to him, though that is probably because they were not tracked. Once I am able to track down those stats I’ll provide an update.

Marques Evans, DB, Newbury Park HS (Newbury Park, CA)

Newbury Park handled Thousand Oaks in their final conference game 42-7, finishing the regular season 7-2 and 2-1 in conference. While stats aren’t available yet for this game, there were some highlights. Based on the highlights, he had at least 3 tackles. For the season, MaxPreps has him with 31 total tackles, 21 solo, 2 INT, 1 fumble recovered and 6 passes defended. These are incomplete, but at least provide an idea. Once I have more complete stats, I’ll post them.

Newbury Park travels to Edison for their first playoff game on the 11th.

Zeke Birch, DT, Madison HS (Rexburg, ID)

Madison lost to Capital 28-20 in the quarterfinals of the 5A State Playoffs, officially ending their season. They finished 8-4 and 3-1 in conference. Zeke’s final stats aren’t yet available and I’m not sure when they will be. I don’t think I have had any stats for him all season. Once I can get my eyes on them, I’ll get them posted.

Aisa Kelemete, DE, Highland HS (Pocatello, ID)

Highland lost in the quarterfinals as well by a score of 30-3 against Mountain View, ending their season. They finished 6-5 and 4-0 in conference. Stats in the game weren’t available and neither are Aisa’s final stats. Again, once those are available I’ll get those posted.

Isiah Moore, OT, Mesa CC (Mesa, AZ)

Mesa moved to 7-2, 5-1 in conference after a loss to Arizona Western 45-21. Stats are not yet available for the game. There is a brief highlight below.

Mesa travels to Pima CC on the 12th.

Breydon Boyd, LB, Katy HS (Katy, TX)

Katy blanked Mayde Creek on Saturday 58-0, moving to 8-2 and 7-0 in district. Stats for Breydon haven’t been available all season. There must be an error on MaxPreps as he is on the roster and I know he has been playing, but nothing is ever registered for him. Again, once I can figure out what his stats are, I’ll get them posted.

Katy gets Fort Bend Travis at home on Friday for the first round of playoffs.

Michael Young, DB, Dodge City CC (Dodge City, KS)

I misspoke last week as Dodge City had a bye last week. He did post highlights for the previous game against Coffeyville.

Dodge City travels to Hutchinson for their last game on Saturday.

Chase Cord, QB, Sunrise Mountain HS (Peoria, AZ)

Chase Cord broke the Arizona State High School record for most touchdown passes in a career on Friday after throwing 4 in the Mustang’s win over Mingus. The final score was 49-6, moving Sunrise Mountain to 10-1 and 4-0 in districts. Chase was 11-17 for 283 yards and 4 TDs, giving him 133 TDs for his career.

Sunrise Mountain takes on Catalina Foothills at home on Thursday in the quarterfinals of the playoffs.

Mike Young, OT, Queen Creek HS (Queen Creek, AZ)

Queen Creek destroyed Desert View 62-0 in the first round of playoffs. The Bulldogs move to . Michael had 2 total tackles, one solo, 1 TFL and 1 sack in the win.

Queen Creek gets Ironwood Ridge at home for the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Quentin Brown, LB, Conroe HS (Conroe, TX)

The Tigers lost their final game of the season to Westbrook on Friday 48-19, finishing 3-7 and 0-6 in districts. Stats aren’t available for Quentin at this time.

Tyreque Jones DB, San Gorgonio HS (San Bernardino, CA)

The Spartans took down Jurupa Hills 42-0 on Friday, improving to 7-3, 5-0 in league play. Tyreque had 2 rushes for 18 yards and a TD, 5 receptions for 162 yards and 2 TDs, 2 total tackles, 1 solo and 2 passes defended.

The Spartans get South Hills on Friday for the first round of playoffs.

Cartrell Thomas, WR, Lancaster HS (Lancaster, TX)

Lancaster defeated Midlothian Friday 42-12, improving to 9-1 and 7-0 in district play. While stats weren’t available for the game, Cartrell had at least one TD by virtue of it being on the below highlights.

Lancaster has a home playoff game against Seguin this Friday.

That will do it this week for the future Broncos. Tune in next week! GO BRONCOS!
