Cartrell Thomas commits to Boise State

NCAA Football: San Jose State at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

I’m a little late on this one, so I apologize. Boise State picked up a HUGE commitment last night from Cartrell Thomas, a 5’9, 160lbs receiver out of Texas. He listed as a 3* prospect by Scout and Rivals. His most notable offers that he passed on were Texas Tech, Colorado, Illinois and Utah. He had a number of MW offers as well.

His Lancaster Tigers are 9-1 for the season and 7-0 in districts. I can’t yet find stats for him on the season (weird, right?), but once I do, I’ll give an update. He’s listed as the #21 WR in the state of Texas, which is no small feat. His speed is listed from 4.6 to 4.7, but in his highlights below, he looks a lot faster than that.

He could make an immediate impact on the offense, and with Sperbeck and Anderson graduating, he would be a welcome addition. We will still have Wilson for another year, and Butler, Richardson and Modster have all had their highlights this season, but none of them have really separated themselves. There will be opportunities next season for sure.

Welcome to Bronco Nation Cartrell! GO BRONCOS!
