2017 Boise State Recruiting Roundup: 11/21/16

NCAA Football: UNLV at Boise State Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

It was a very interesting weekend in college football. The Broncos got a solid win against UNLV at home on Senior Night. SDSU did us no favors by losing on a terrible 2-pt conversion play against Wyoming. Let’s not get into the rest of the craziness. All we can control right now is preparing for Air Force on Friday.

Let’s check in on the soon-to-be Broncos!

Jermani Brown, ATH, Midlothian HS (Midlothian, VA)

Stats have still not been uploaded for Jermani, but his full senior highlights have. Check them out below!

Not including the Edison game, Marques had 36 total tackles, 26 solo, 2 interceptions, a fumble recovery, 7 passes defended, 1 blocked field goal and 1 tackle for loss. He also had 8 receptions for 136 yards and 2 TDs. Highlights from the game are below.

Zeke Birch, DT, Madison HS (Rexburg, ID)

There is very little info on Zeke right now. His Bobcats lost in the first round of playoffs to Capital. Once his stats for the season are available, I’ll get those posted.

Aisa Kelemete, DE, Highland HS (Pocatello, ID)

Highland lost in the quarterfinals as well by a score of 30-3 against Mountain View, ending their season. Aisa’s season stats are not yet available, but I will post them when they are.

Isiah Moore, OT, Mesa CC (Mesa, AZ)

Mesa finished the regular season with a win over Pima CC 37-32. they finished 8-2 for the season. As an O-lineman, Isiah doesn’t have stats that have been attributed to him. Isiah was named to All WSFL 1st team at left tackle.

Mesa will host the Valley of the Sun Bowl on December 3rd. The will play the undefeated Lakawana Falcons.

Breydon Boyd, LB, Katy HS (Katy, TX)

Katy beat Cypress Ranch 31-14 in the 2nd round of playoffs on Friday. Katy doesn’t seem to keep defensive stats.

Michael Young, DB, Dodge City CC (Dodge City, KS)

Dodge City finished the regular season with a 28-21 win over Hutchinson, finishing 7-4. Michael had 4 total tackles, 2 solo and .5 tackles for loss in the win. He has 42 total tackles, 28 solo, 3 TFL, 2 fumbles caused, 1 recovered, 2 INTs, 6 pass break-ups and 3 kicks blocked.

Dodge City is now waiting to see if they are selected to one of 7 bowl games.

Chase Cord, QB, Sunrise Mountain HS (Peoria, AZ)

Sunrise Mountain lost a shootout to Catalina Foothills 52-49 on Friday. The Mustangs finished 10-2. Cord passed for 252 yards and 4 TDs in the loss.

His totals for the season, are as follows: 149 of 249 (59.8%) for 2,721 yards, 38 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. He also had 74 rushes for 155 yards and 6 more TDs.

Mike Young, OT, Queen Creek HS (Queen Creek, AZ)

Queen Creek lost to Williams Field in the semifinals 37-12, ending their season. Michael had 4 tackles, 1 QB hurry and 1 pass deflected. He ends with 53 tackles, 25 solo, 5 TFL, 1 sack, 2 INTs (one for a TD), 2 passes defended and 2 fumbles recovered.

Quentin Brown, LB, Conroe HS (Conroe, TX)

Cartrell Thomas, WR, Lancaster HS (Lancaster, TX)

Lancaster beat Wilson on Friday 58-39, improving to 11-1, 7-0 in districts. While stats weren’t available for the win, Cartrell had at least 3 TDs in the win.

Lancaster will play Wylie East on 11/25 in the next round of playoffs.

It looks like we still have 3 players whose teams are still in their respective playoffs. Isiah Moore’s Thunderbirds are going to a JC bowl and Michael Young’s Conquistadors are playing the waiting game. That will do it this week for the future Broncos. Tune in next week! GO BRONCOS!
