You might not have known it, but the Biletnikoff Award committee announced their 10 semifinalists yesterday and Boise State’s Thomas Sperbeck did NOT make the cut. This is why this morning’s announcement that Jeremy McNichols HAD, in fact, made the final cut for the Doak Walker Award just a bit sweeter. In a sign that times, they are a changin’, THREE Mountain West backs actually were named semi-finalists—SDSU’s Donnel Pumphrey (who leads the nation in rushing yards and leads the conference in smack-talk), Wyoming’s Brian Hill (3rd in rushing yards) and of course, McNichols (5th in rushing yards, FIRST in rushing TDs). That last stat is one the Boise State football twitter doesn’t want you to forget

The award committee will trim the list to 3 finalists by next Tuesday (Nov. 22), so here’s hoping for a MWC sweep (and a blue and orange victor).
