Boise State stands alone
Last team to have never trailed this season? There can only be one... pic.twitter.com/k6u9RtLMXe— Boise State Football (@BroncoSportsFB) October 9, 2016
A lot of things went really, really right for BSU on Saturday
Wazzu routs Stanford on the road, Oregon State beats Cal, Wyoming beats Air Force, Houston loses to Navy. Good day for BSU w/o even playing.— Dave Southorn (@IDS_BroncoBeat) October 9, 2016
Reminder: In order to qualify for the Group of Five slot in a New Year’s Six bowl (like, say...Fiesta Bowl Part IV), Boise State would have to be the highest ranked G5 conference champion. With Houston’s loss, Boise State is likely in the driver’s seat in that race. Also pursuant to that goal, the win over Washington State is looking better by the week, and helping improve our strength of schedule
...which is a thing we, unfortunately, have to worry about, because we’re not Power 5 and don’t have Nike money. Unlike some people (or Ducks), that also happened to have the misfortune of finding out what it looks like when coach Pete decides to go into ‘Vlad The Impaler’ mode yesterday
That delightfully large ‘70’ prompted me to take a nice stroll down memory lane. Anyone else remember that one time that BSU scored 35 in one quarter and hung 70 on the Vandals? Yeah. That was a good time.
I’m usually a history nerd. Thought I’d change it up and be science-y today...
