2017 Boise State Recruiting Roundup: 10/31/16

NCAA Football: Boise State at Wyoming Troy Babbitt-USA TODAY Sports

Welcome to this spooky edition of Recruiting Roundup! Well, there isn’t really anything spooky about it. Well, except that whole loss thing, but that’s all I’ll say about that.

Let’s check in on the soon-to-be Broncos!

Jermani Brown, ATH, Midlothian HS (Midlothian, VA)

Midlothian had a bye last week. While the Trojans were not in action, they DID post highlights for Jermani for last weeks game against Monacan.

They will get Clover Hill at home on the 4th.

Marques Evans, DB, Newbury Park HS (Newbury Park, CA)

Newbury Park took down Moorpark 35-14 on Friday, improving to 6-3, 1-1 in league play. While Marques stats aren’t yet available in the game, he had at least one tackle and an interception based on the highlights below. He has 29 total tackles, 20 solo, 1 other INT, 1 fumble recovery and a blocked kick on D.

Newbury Park travels to Thousand Oaks on the 4th.

Zeke Birch, DT, Madison HS (Rexburg, ID)

Madison beat Meridian in the first round of playoffs on Friday 31-8. They are 8-2 on the year. I still can’t find updated stats for Zeke, but they HAVE to be available at some point, right?

Madison gets Capital at home on Friday.

Aisa Kelemete, DE, Highland HS (Pocatello, ID)

Highland had a bye week awaiting their first playoff team. Unfortunately MaxPreps still only has his ‘15-’16 season stats. As soon as the ‘16-’17 stats are posted, I’ll get them to you guys. For now, here are his regular season highlights.

Highland gets Mountain View at home on the 4th.

Isiah Moore, OT, Mesa CC (Mesa, AZ)

Mesa won a hard fought battle against Scottsdale CC 35-32, improving to 7-1 and undefeated in conference. Stats haven’t been posted for the game yet, but Isiah had a quick video from the game

Mesa gets Arizona Western at home on the 5th.

Breydon Boyd, LB, Katy HS (Katy, TX)

Katy curb-stomped Strake Jesuit 54-6 on Friday, moving to 7-2, 6-0 in district. Game info was added, but tackle stats were not. No stats for Breydon are available either, which seems weird to me.

Katy gets Mayde Creek at home on Saturday.

Michael Young, DB, Dodge City CC (Dodge City, KS)

Dodge City dropped another one to Coffeyville on Saturday, moving to 6-4, 3-3 in league play. Coffeyville might be familiar to you because there are quite a few former Broncos on the roster, including Darreon Jackson, Marquis Hendrix and Derek Boles. Michael had a nice night with 6 total tackles, all solo, 1 TFL and an INT returned for 21 yards. Mike posted some highlights not too long ago that I don’t think I posted.

Dodge City travels to Hutchinson for their last game on Saturday.

Chase Cord, QB, Sunrise Mountain HS (Peoria, AZ)

Chase Cord and the Mustangs went HAM on Mingus on Friday, winning 61-17. They are 9-1 and 4-0 in section. The win capped off a great regular season for the Mustangs. Chase finished at 21-31 for 477 yards and 7 TDs. He added another on the ground. Chase had some solid highlights in the win.

Sunrise Mountain takes on Mingus, again, at home on Friday to start the playoffs.

Mike Young, OT, Queen Creek HS (Queen Creek, AZ)

Queen Creek dropped one to Williams Field on Friday 16-9. They move to 8-2 on the year, 3-1 in section. Michael had 7 tackles, 2 solo, and an INT in the loss.

Queen Creek gets Desert View to start the playoffs on Friday.

Quentin Brown, LB, Conroe HS (Conroe, TX)

Conroe lost to Lufkin on Friday 34-21, dropping to 3-6, 0-5 in district. While I could not find stats for Quentin in the loss, he did have some highlights.

Conroe gets Westbrook at home this Friday.

Tyreque Jones DB, San Gorgonio HS (San Bernardino, CA)

SGHS brought the pain on Friday beating Arroyo Valley 61-16. They improved to 6-3, 4-0 in league play. Tyreque was 0-1 passing, had 3 rushes for 11 yards, 4 receptions for 78 yards and a TD, 1 total tackle and one kickoff returned for 47 yards.

Stats for last week’s game against Rim of the World were available. He had 4 rushes for 72 yards, 1 TD and 3 receptions for 36 yards on offense. On defense he had 3 total tackles and one pass defended.

The Spartans travel to Jurupa Hills on Friday.

That will do it this week for the future Broncos. Tune in next week! GO BRONCOS!
