Boise State opens conference play with a ‘W’
It was kind of a weird game, honestly, but it was a win and it brings scoreboard bragging rights vs Utah State back to Boise. Which is nice.

Vallejo out on D, Molchon with his first start on offense
Vallejo is still out, dating back to the second half of last week’s game. On offense, Mason Hampton was out this week, prompting some shuffling along the O-line that resulted in freshman John Molchon getting his first start at tackle.
Highlight of the night!
Coach Harsin, in the postgame presser, had a ‘Jake from State Farm’ moment. An unnamed reporter left his phone on the podium to record Harsin’s postgame remarks. It went off three times before Coach Harsin finally answered it. Apparently the reporter’s girlfriend was wondering where was—it was 1 am at the time.
...although this one was pretty good too
‘Dude...what?’ Quote of the game
—Utah State Head Coach, Matt Wells
