Because winners just win, they also get recognized for some pretty awesome feats.

And Bronco swimming is no different.

This past weekend the Broncos had participated in the Chick-Fil-A Invitational down in Fresno, California. While there, the Broncos took first place with 1,002 points. They beat out the likes of conference foes San Diego State and last year’s Mountain West Conference tournament champion Nevada.

While there, Brittany Aoyama stole the show by going a perfect 8-for-8 in her races which included five winning relays.

This performance was so good, the Mountain West Conference felt it necessary to give her the Swimmer of the Week award. What is awesome about this recognition is that it is Ms. Aoyama’s eighth such award as she enters her senior year of competing for the Broncos.

The Broncos are looking to recapture conference bragging rights after finishing second to arch-nemesis Nevada at last year’s Mountain West Conference Championship. With Brittany Aoyama at the helm, the Broncos certainly look like they can keep that momentum and bring home another championship for the Broncos.

Congratulations Ms. Aoyama!
