The Broncos are 2 for 4 so far on the 2016 Revenge tour after dismantling New Mexico 49-21 on Friday. Really, the game could have been 70-7 if Harsin hadn’t called the dogs off early in the second half. The Broncos did a great job sticking to their assignments and shutting down the triple option.
No Go Broncos this week, so let’s check in with the future Broncos
Jermani Brown, ATH, Midlothian HS (Midlothian, VA)
Jermani’s schedule is all sorts of messed up. He did not have a bye last week. His game against Huguenot was postponed due to poor field conditions and moved to Monday. From what I can find, which is not on the Richmond Newspaper website OR MaxPreps, Midlothian won the game against Huguenot 35-12. I couldn’t find stats for Jermani, but he does have highlight tape from the game. I was able to find a couple stats. Jermani had 2 receptions for 29 yards, 2 TDs and an INT.
Midlothian ALSO played Manchester on Friday the 7th, but fell 54-26. Jermani did have a pick 6 in the game as well as a punt return for a TD, but I am unsure of other stats.
Hopefully I am back on track, but I have a feeling I missed something. Midlothian travels to James River Christian Academy on Friday the 14th.
Marques Evans, DB, Newbury Park HS (Newbury Park, CA)
The Panthers moved to 5-2 on the year after a 63-49 loss to Oaks Christian on Friday. While stats aren’t available yet for the game, Evans does have 24 total tackles, 16 solo, 1 INT, 5 passes defended and 1 fumble recovery through 6 games. They’ve played 7, but again, the stats are not yet available on MaxPreps.
Newbury Park has a bye this week, but gets Calabasas on the 21st at home.
Zeke Birch, DT, Madison HS (Rexburg, ID)
The Bulldogs lost their first game of the year to Aisa Kelemete’s Rams on Thursday 30-12. They are now 6-1. Yet again, no stats for Zeke. Madison gets Bonneville at home on Friday the 14th.
Aisa Kelemete, DE, Highland HS (Pocatello, ID)
As stated above, Highland took down undefeated Madison 30-12 on Friday, moving to 4-3 on the year. Also of note, Highland has not lost since Kelemete returned. While I could not find full stats, I do know Aisa had at least 2 sacks in the game.
Aisa Kelemete is having a big game. 2 sacks for the defensive end. Highland is getting pressure. #idpreps— Michael Guise (@Michael_Guise) October 7, 2016
Highland gets Rigby at home this Friday.
Isiah Moore, OT, Mesa CC (Mesa, AZ)
The box score from last week against Scottsdale CC was available, but not stats were recorded for Isiah. Mesa did, however, steamroll Phoenix College 58-13. They are 5-1 overall with the lone loss coming from Phoenix College, oddly enough. The first meeting was a non-conference game, though.
No box score is available for the game right now, but I imagine it will become available sometime this week. Mesa travels to Glendale CC next Saturday.
Breydon Boyd, LB, Katy HS (Katy, TX)
Katy handled Seven Lakes with ease, moving to 4-2 after the 52-7 victory. Unfortunately I could not find stats for Breydon. Based on the video, though, he had AT LEAST 2 tackles, 1 of them being a sack, and a QB hurry.
Katy gets Morton Ranch this Friday.
Michael Young, DB, Dodge City CC (Dodge City, KS)
Dodge city lost to Iowa West 34-29, moving to 5-2. Michael had 2 total tackles, both solo, 1 TFL, 1 fumble caused and another blocked kick. That makes 3 blocked kicks this year.
Dodge City travels to Fort Scott on Saturday.
Chase Cord, QB, Sunrise Mountain HS (Peoria, AZ)
Sunrise Mountain destroyed Cactus 55-28, improving to 6-1 on the season. Chase was an efficient 21-26 for 402 yards and 3 TDs. He added a rushing TD as well. Not a bad night, right?
Chase is now (roughly) 79-140 (56%) for 1,212 yards, 15 TDs and 2 INTs as well as 4 rushing TDs. I say roughly as his last game is not added in, but if I’m mathing right, these should be his stats. He also sat last week against Moon Valley.
The above highlights are obviously not all Chase, but has quite a few highlights of him. The Mustangs get Peoria at home on Thursday.
Mike Young, OT, Queen Creek HS (Queen Creek, AZ)
Queen Creek beat Campo Verde 32-9 on Friday, improving to 7-1. Mike had an interception return, 4 total tackles, 2 solo and a safety. He has 30 total tackles, 15 solo, 2 sacks, and interception, a fumble recovery and a safety this year. Oh, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Queen Creek gets a week off, but takes on Vista Grande at home on the 21st.
Quentin Brown, LB, Conroe HS (Conroe, TX)
Conroe lost on Thursday to Montgomery 43-39. They are now 3-3 on the season. Stats for Quentin are scarce, but I did find a highlight tape.
Conroe travels to College Park this Friday.
Tyreque Jones DB, San Gorgonio HS (San Bernardino, CA)
The Spartans blanked Indian Springs 56-0 on Friday, improving to 3-3 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. Stats are not yet available for the win, but so far this year, Tyreque has 12 receptions for 235 yards and 2 TDs, 12 carries for 80 yards, 25 total tackles, 18 solo, 2 INTs and 5 passes defended.
The Spartans travel to Rialto on Friday looking to stay unbeaten in conference play.
That will do it this week for the future Broncos. Tune in next week! GO BRONCOS!
