Darian Thompson shines at Reese's Senior Bowl

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Newly graduated safety Darian Thompson had a solid showing at the Reese's Senior Bowl today for the North squad. Despite losing 27-16 to the South squad, Thompson was named outstanding player for the North, while Shawn Oakman was named outstanding player for the south. Dak Prescott, who played for the South, was named the MVP of the bowl.

Thompson finished with 5 total tackles, 2 solo, and a team-high 2 pass break-ups. If you haven't been paying attention, Thompson's stock has been climbing all week after consistently playing at a high level through practices. He is getting really hard looks from the likes of the Chargers, Giants, Panthers, Colts, and Jaguars just to name a few. Here's a great article from Big Cat Country, a Jaguars site here on SBNation. Oddly, his profile on NFL.com isn't as glowing about him, but maybe that's because he gained so much weight...

Next up for Thompson is the NFL Combine on February 29th as well as Boise State's Pro Day at the end of March. Us homers think very highly of Darian, and it's nice to see the rest of the nation begin the realize the type of player that Boise State produces. Good luck Darian and Go Broncos!
