Boise State #1 in Underdog Poll
Boise State is the unanimous #1 team in the underdog poll, and interestingly enough, BYU is #2. Cincinnati and Temple are numbers 3 and 5, respectively, and they play each other this weekend. Temple beat Penn State last weekend for the first time since 1941, and they look like a pretty tough team this year. (Penn State actually held a funeral and buried the game tape!) Temple might just be this years' Marshall when it comes to competition for a NY6 spot.
Vanquish The Foe Previews This Weekend's Matchup
I really like BYU as an opponent, and love that they bring strength and credibility to our SOS. It seems like the benefits of playing each other is mutual. BYU fans seem to like having to play Boise State, simply because we're not Gosh Darn Utah.
Ahead of the Boise State/BYU game, the Statesman, sizes up the large man-children known as BYU wide receivers. They have 2 receivers measuring 6-6 and one 6-5, so just about every play could be a Hail Marty jump ball. I say we have SWR play both sides of the ball and ride Donte Deayon's shoulders like The Mighty.
That still only counts as one player, I think.
ESPN Calls BYU Boise State's Toughest Nonconference Game
Yeah, I figured this would be our toughest game of the season, being played in LaVell Edwards Stadium against a tough BYU team. Taysom Hill was the scariest part of it, but Tanner Mangum is no pushover either.
Here's the blog I posted on UW Dawg Pound as a result of the blog bet.
