Hey guys, how about THAT complete game?! Save for the standard breakdowns we have had, we've been able to clean up A LOT of issues. This Bronco team is looking similar to the teams of the Bronco "glory days". Though isn't every day a glory day when you're a Bronco? The Broncos weren't the only ones who had great weekends. Let's check in with our FUTURE Broncos!
Nick Crabtree, TE, Huntington Beach HS (Huntington Beach, CA)
The Oilers blanked Animo South Los Angeles on Friday 49-0. Wowzers. Unfortunately I don't see any stats for Nick. It seems HBHS has taken to not passing the ball. Like at all. They had 3 pass attempts, all complete, for 40 yards. Total. For the whole game. They had another 148 yards on the ground and a bunch of special teams yardage, but no Crabtree yardage. The Oilers have a bye this week, facing Marina on Friday, October 9th.
Damarea Crockett, RB, Little Rock Christian Academy (Little Rock, AR)
LRCA beat Farmington by the same score Utah beat the Ducks, 62-20. The Warriors stay perfect at 4-0 after Crockett acted as a one-man wrecking crew, toting the rock 15 times for 229 yards and 5 TDs. If my mathings are right, that's 15.27 yards per carry. NIIIIIICE. The Warriors travel to Harrison this Friday.
Tyson Maeva, ILB, Cathedral Catholic High School (San Diego, CA)
CCHS bounced back this week with a 24-10 win over Liberty, moving to 2-3 on the season. Tyson has been playing, I just haven't found any stats for him. I've seen videos of him making tackles, which usually get uploaded the week AFTER the game, but I have yet to find stats on him. The Dons take on Eastlake this Friday.
Reid Harrison-Ducros, CB, Heritage High School (Colleyville,TX)
Heritage took a lost on Friday to Trinity 59-33, dropping them to 2-3. Reid had one reception for 57 yards, 4 kick returns for 83 yards, 10 tackles, 1 blocked kick, and no pass completions allowed. He's making sure everyone understands the term "lockdown". The Panthers have a bye this week, but visit Haltom on the 9th.
Desmond Williams, OLB, Centennial High School (Corona, CA)
Centennial had a bye this week, but will return to play on Friday against Valencia. For those of you that don't know, Centennial is kind of good. They are currently ranked by MaxPreps as the #1 school in CA and the #6 school in the nation. No biggie. Since they did not play this week, I'll just leave this little Vine here for your enjoyment...
Ezra Cleveland, OT, Bethel HS (Spanaway, WA)
Bethel returned to action Friday after a bye week and easily handled Rogers 34-7, moving to 4-0. There are no stats for Ezra, but he always seems to have videos from the games. Perks of being one of the top lineman in the state? I'd say so. He does, however, have 12 solo tackles and 18 total tackles on the season including 10 tackles for loss and a sack.
Julian Carter, WR, Saguaro High School (Scottsdale, AZ)
Julian's Sabercats had the week off last week, but return to action on Friday against Mountain Ridge.
Robert Mahone, RB, Prosper High School (Prosper, TX)
Prosper worked over Sherman 47-15 on Friday, improving to 3-1. Robert had 4 rushing attempts for 31 yards (7.75 ypc) and 4 receptions for 90 yards and 1 TD. The Eagles turn their attention to McKinney on Thursday.
Kole Bailey, OT, Twin Falls High School (Twin Falls, ID)
The Bruins put the beat down on Burley Friday 45-0, moving to 4-1 on the season. No stats were available for Kole, but like Cleveland, there's always video for the top lineman in the state! Twin Falls looks to remain perfect in conference play this Friday against Canyon Ridge.
Robert Lewis, CB, Hawkins High School (Los Angeles, CA)
The Hawks handled Rancho Dominguez 37-7 on Friday, staying a perfect 5-0 on the season. No stats are available yet for Robert, but he currently has 16 total tackles and 1 tackle for loss on the season. Hawkins has a bye this week, but returns to play at Manual Arts on Friday the 9th.
Chase Hatada, DT, Rocklin High School (Rocklin, CA)
Rocklin had a bye this week and looks to start conference play at 1-0 at Oak Ridge this friday. This was a much needed week to heal for Hatada, who could play on Friday if healthy.
Micah Wilson, QB, Lincoln Christian High School (Tulsa, OK)
The Bulldogs are 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in conference play after Thumping Verdigris 58-16 on Friday. Wilson was 18-21 (85.7%) for 394 yds and 5 TDs. He also had 2 rushes for 10 yards. One other interesting stat is Wilson had one punt for 51 yards, pinning it inside the 20. LCHS plays at Sperry on Friday.
That's it this week! We'll have a couple visitors this week for the Hawaii game. I have to imagine the weather will be stellar and the atmosphere will be wild! I also feel like we are due for a commitment since Grim jumped ship. Who's with me? GO BRONCOS!
