Stats
Height: 5’10"
Weight: 180 lbs
High School: West Mesquite High School, Dallas, TX
How'd he get to the Blue™?
By way of the West Mesquite Pipeline. Yes, that is a thing. Though Kam Miles came to us from Butler CC, he player with DSG at WMHS. West Mesquite is a solid hitter in the Texas system, so of course we want players from there! Akilian was another gem, a diamond in the rough, if you will. Butler passed on the likes of Colorado, SMU and Clemson to come to Boise State. That is some decent company, namely Clemson. Ok really just Clemson, but I digress. He was listed as a 3-star recruit by Scout, Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN.
Nickname
"The Dagger"
He may be small, but lethal to opposing defenses.
Look-a-like
Bruno Mars sans long hair
Career Highlights
Butler ended his senior season with 48 catches for 686 yards and 12 touchdowns. That earned him a spot on his third straight first-team 10-4A All-District team. Caught 37 passes for 447 yards his junior year and 29 for 399 yards and 3 TDs his sophomore year. Watching his highlights above, you will notice that he is not a 6’4 230b possession receiver. You will also notice he is a playmaker. this may just be me, but he reminds me a bit of Titus Young. Good size, great speed, and if you get the ball in his hands, he makes plays.
2015 Prospectus
SWR, Sperbeck and Anderson run the show. I think that is in everyone’s head at this point. But there is a lot of room for a supporting cast around them. We added a few WR to the roster. I can see Rick Smith seeing a lot of playing time. Terrell Johnson may make some plays on special teams as a returner. Richardson showed up early and often in the spring game. Ware is done for his career after tearing his ACL. Tanner Shipley also medically retired. DJ Dean seems to finally be healthy. And there is still Modster, McKinzie, Pope, Cottrell, Barr and Jefferson. We have a lot of bodies. Cottrell is the biggest of the receivers followed closely by Barr. Honestly it is anyone’s game at this point, so whoever decides to step up as the best chance. I wouldn’t be opposed to redshirting either Jefferson or Butler, maybe even both depending on the talent level of the rest of the receivers. Barr and McKinzie are both walk-ons, but we know what BSU can do with those, so I won’t be quick to write those two off. I would love to hear your comments below. There are a lot of different scenario that could play out here.
Is he on Twitter?
He absolutely is and he is pumped.

Completely made up fact
Akilian is a Tamagotchi aficionado. He has collected and raised over 300 of them without killing any of them. He is especially diligent about cleaning up after them. It’s his key to digital pet success.
