Boise State numerical roster countdown 2015: Day 89, Brock Barr

I love the 80s

Brian Losness-USA TODAY Sports

We've got 89 days until Boise State will be conveniently camouflaged with the turf. -- Brock Barr

#89, Brock Barr, Junior, WR

Stats

Height: 6' 3"

Weight: 198 lbs

High School: Enterprise HS, Redding, California via Shasta College

How'd he get to the Blue™?

As a high school senior, Brock caught 31 passes for 807 yards and seven touchdowns for Enterprise HS. Brock went the junior college route out of high school, going to Shasta College. As a sophomore for Shasta he recorded 42 receptions, 780 yards, and six touchdowns. He is currently a preferred walk on with Boise State. Barr appears to be a hungry athlete looking for an opportunity get to the next level.

Nickname

"Takeshi"

This is DEFINITELY the first he'd ever run into this.

Look-a-like

I'm fine with this decision.

Career Highlights

Was second in receptions and yards for Shasta College. Barr earned a Shasta weekly MVP, and was an honorable mention for the Pacific 7 league post season awards. In high school he lettered twice in baseball and once in basketball.

2015 Prospectus

Wide Receiver is a position that is ripe for the taking in terms of opportunity. We know who the three starters are (Sperbeck, SWR, and Anderson) but who is going to step up? With the loss of Ware and Shipley to medical reasons, the WR corps has been dropping like flies. Richardson has been making strides in practice and Rick Smith is, apparently, coming back (which is really cool, but am curious how that GoFundMe account is going to affect his overall eligibility and the NCAA) so having him available will be fortunate. But there is plenty of room for another guy (or two, or three) to step up and be a breakout star. I want every player on this team to be successful both in the classroom, and on the field. So I am definitely rooting for Barr to every bit of successful as he can. Any possible success he (or any other WRs have) could also be indicative of the QB play. So, by all means, I hope he plays up.

Is he on Twitter?

Hopefully this is a prescient tweet about any future games.

Completely made up fact

As a noted Star Wars enthusiast, Brock once binge watched the first six movies. Inspired, he penned a massive thesis detailing in painstaking detail how to make them ALL better (yes, even the original three). George Lucas has since authorized a special "Brock Barr" Star Wars edition to be released in the Fall of 2016.
