Over on Blogging the Boys Michael Sisemore reviews their lingering issue of needing a franchise back since parting ways with Murray. In the piece, the number one (hypothetical) player for trade would be the presumed Miami starter in Lamar Miller. If the trade happens, does that open the door for Ajayi to start?
As it stands, Miami has five current backs: Miller, Ajayi, Mike Gillislee, LaMichael James, and Damien Williams. If Miller gets shipped to Dallas, what kind of odds does that open for the former Boise State star?
Ajayi's competition (minus Miller) has a combined rushing total of 214 rushing yards, and 45 receiving yards. The vast majority of those yards coming from former Oregon Duck LaMichael James. With Ajay's size, bruising style, smarts, and versatility, one could venture to say he has a fairly decent shot at replacing Miller as starter.
