Kelsey Young, older brother of now fellow Bronco RB Cory Young signs a financial agreement to play for the Broncos.

A recent post on Twitter from @BSURecruits indicated that Boise State has picked up a commitment, more or less, from a 5th year senior RB transfer from Stanford by the name of Kelsey Young.

Listed as a 5'11 192lb 4-star RB out of Norco High in Norco, CA by Rivals.com, Young received offers from Stanford, Arizona and Duke before committing to the Cardinal in January of 2011. Oddly enough, he was recruited by none other than Brian Polian, who was the special teams coordinator there at the time.

This video was posted to youtube.com after his junior season. Hudl content wasn't loading for me, which is super.

While at Stanford, Kelsey rushed 66 times for 331 yards as a senior and was on the Doak Walker award watch list. He never eclipsed 100 yards in a game, but provided meaningful depth in his tenure there. Interesting note from Stanford's website, Young played for head coach Todd Gerhart at Norco, the father of former Cardinal RB Toby Gerhart.

Kelsey comes to Boise State at a great time of need for RB. With the departure of Bertoli and the arrest of Sheard, we quickly became somewhat thin at RB. Kelsey will bring multiple years of experience in an offense used to running the ball and will provide immediate depth at RB. Join me in welcoming Kelsey to The Blue for his final year of eligibility! Go BRONCOS!!
