The Mountain West has had an eventful year. Overall, many ups and downs in terms of athletic achievement. Our friends over at the Mountain West Connection have put together a list of the best collegiate athlete for the 2015 year. A pretty good list with names you will recognize, along with others you probably will not.
So, of course, Boise State does have its own representative with Brett Rypien. Their recap of the true freshman QB:
Brett Rypien, Boise State quarterback - The Broncos had high expectations on the blue turf, but while the win-loss record may look somewhat disappointing in retrospect, Boise fans can be encouraged by having had the conference Freshman Player of the Year under center. Rypien finished third among FBS freshman signal-callers in QB rating, third in completion percentage, fourth in passing yards, and fifth in passing TDs.
Currently Rypien only has 2% of the vote. And it is not even close. Trenton Brooks has 3,887 votes. Bronco Nation should make its voice heard.
On a personal note: While there is certainly no problem, per se, with Rypien's inclusion as Boise State's representative, Allie Ostrander, in all reality, should be the person whose name is on the list. I made a comment in the comment section, and Senior Chief came through with tangible stats that back up that assertion.
Bronco Nation, the signal has been lit, will you respond?
