The Broncos showed mettle in a tough loss to the Michigan State Spartans.
In a game that the Broncos would have needed all the made free throws they could muster, they were 18-25, the Broncos were actually well within striking distance of Michigan State. Even controlling the contest with a lead of seven points. Unfortunately they had given up that lead with less than five minutes to go in the first period (last lead was 24-21) and could not recover.
An impressive performance from Aussie, Nick Duncan, saw him score a Boise State high of 19 points and hitting all of his free throws.
James Webb III had some foul trouble late in the game and eventually fouled out. He had nine points and only hit one of his four free throws.
The Spartans doubled-up on the Broncos in assists 23-11, though no player on the court saw double-digit assists.
Mikey Thompson continued his rise with 17 points, four rebounds and eight assists, a Bronco high.
Final Stats
Your Turn
Did you watch the Broncos fall in this game? Or were you still on the football game? While the final result is disappointing, seeing the Broncos hang tough with the number three team in the nation is encouraging. Hopefully the Broncos will be able to put these games on the right side of the win/loss column soon.
