Solid win for the Broncos, but for some reason I felt like the score should have been higher. Am I the only one who feels that way? Probably just because of the lack of points off turnovers. Oh well, big wins away from home are always a good thing. On to the recruits!
Nick Crabtree, TE, Huntington Beach HS (Huntington Beach, CA)
The Oilers blanked Marina 32-0 to improve to 3-3 on the season, 1-0 in conference play. No stats have been posted for Nick, but I'm hoping HBHS got him involved this week. I'll update this once they post more info. The Oilers get Newport Harbor at home this Friday.
Damarea Crockett, RB, Little Rock Christian Academy (Little Rock, AR)
The Warriors stayed a perfect 7-0, 4-0 in conference, after a 40-23 drubbing of Vilonia on Friday. As best I can tell, Crockett had at least 7 carries for 91 yards near the end of the 3rd quarter, but I can't find complete stats. LRCA travels to Greenbriar on Friday.
Tyson Maeva, ILB, Cathedral Catholic High School (San Diego, CA)
The Dons worked over Damonte Ranch 49-19 on Friday, notching another win and moving to 4-3 on the season. Again, no stats for Tyson, but there is actually a video, which I'll include below. CCHS has a bye this week, returning to action on Friday the 23rd with St. Augustine visiting.
Reid Harrison-Ducros, CB, Heritage High School (Colleyville,TX)
The Panthers pummeled Haltom 44-7 on Friday, improving to 3-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. Reid has 3 tackles, a pass defended, a KR for 5 yards, a reception for 23 yards, and it looks like he converted a botched extra point for a 2-point conversion. Videos below. Heritage takes on Bell at home on Friday.
Desmond Williams, OLB, Centennial High School (Corona, CA)
Centennial stayed a perfect 6-0 on Friday taking down King 47-14. No defensive stats were available. Centennial remains the #1 team in California and #3 team in the nation. They travel to Roosevelt on Friday.
Ezra Cleveland, OT, Bethel HS (Spanaway, WA)
After a loss the previous week, the Braves bounced back to beat Emerald Ridge on the road 35-28, improving to 5-1 on the season. No stats for the game are available yet, but I'll update if they become available. Bethel plays Curtis at home on Saturday.
Julian Carter, WR, Saguaro High School (Scottsdale, AZ)
Saguaro smothered Desert Mountain on Friday 56-14, improving to 5-2 on the season and remaining a perfect 2-0 in conference play. Julian hauled in 2 catches for 39 yards. The Sabercats travel to Apollo on Friday.
Robert Mahone, RB, Prosper High School (Prosper, TX)
Prosper lost a heart-breaker to Wylie East 32-31 on Friday, dropping 2 in a row. They are now 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in conference. Robert had 23 rushes for 114 yards and 2 TDs to go along with 4 receptions for 34 yards. The Eagles hope to get back in the win column this Friday against visiting Wylie.
Kole Bailey, OT, Twin Falls High School (Twin Falls, ID)
The Bruins beat Minico Friday 37-14, remaining 5-0 in conference and 7-1 on the year. No stats are available for Kole. TFHS travels to Century on Friday.
Robert Lewis, CB, Hawkins High School (Los Angeles, CA)
The Hawks blanked Manual Arts on Friday 42-0, remaining 6-0 on the year and 3-0 in conference. Stats for the game are not yet available. Hawkins plays at Locke on Friday.
Chase Hatada, DT, Rocklin High School (Rocklin, CA)
Rocklin beat Del Oro on Friday 28-3. They are now 4-2 for the season and 1-1 in conference play. Chase had 5 total tackles and a sack for a 13 yard loss. the Thunder gets Woodcreek at home this Friday.
Micah Wilson, QB, Lincoln Christian High School (Tulsa, OK)
The Bulldogs remain perfect on the year at 6-0, 3-0 in conference, after a 56-6 drubbing of Webster on Friday. Wilson was stellar as usual. He was 19-22 (86.4%) for 365 yards and 5 TDs. So far this year, he is 82-108 (75.9%) for 1,640 yards and 21 TDs to just 1 INT. He also has 22 carries for 228 yards and 3 TDs. Not too shabby if you ask me. LCHS gets Dewey at home this Thursday.
Great week for current and future Broncos alike. Always things to improve on, but a dub is a dub. We'll check back in next Sunday. Go Broncos!
