Wake Up, Bronco Nation: Gloat-Fest Edition!

What better way to bring in the new year than attacking the future?

Coach Harsin Postgame Locker Room Speech

Gawrsh, I love this guy! I was enjoying watching him smiling and laughing on the sidelines last night (especially in contrast with Rich Rod's total meltdowns). Even when we weren't playing well, Harsin maintained a positive, encouraging attitude, and that trickled down to his players. Without his optimism, I don't think we would have come back and won against the New Mexicos this year. He keeps his players believing they're still in it, and I'd like to say we definitely have a coach who's Our Kinda Guy!

Looking Back at Who Believed in BSU

Shameless self-referential plug, here, but I don't want to go back and re-link all the predictions. It's good to see who I like as a columnist, and who needs flaming poo on their porch. Speaking of which...

This Guy is Growing on Me [B/R!]

Earlier he wrote an article on how he thought the Fiesta Bowl would be the best bowl game, and yes, for Bronco Nation, it definitely was (I love the first tweet in that article even more now)! Now he's making the case for BSU to be included among the elite in football. Hop on the BUS, Pedersen, there's a vacant spot where Pat Forde used to sit!

Really Good ESPN Article

This writer puts us out there as the banner carriers for the have-nots, which I totally agree with. I really like this article, and didn't really realize until I read this article, that the MWC is 4-1 in BCS/NY6 games, with our lone loss being TCU's against us. I really liked this line, too:

In this first year of the College Football Playoff, the four-team bracket is a blue-blood field with blue-blood teams from blue-blood conferences. Yet none actually play on a blue field.

Sports Illustrated's Take

With an encouraging word for our fine opponent Arizona. You have to hand it to them, they made the correct halftime adjustments.  Congrats to Arizona for making the game interesting, and for being a classy organization!

Happy new year: Cats!
