2015 Recruit Roundup: September 14th, 2014

Boise State is now 2-1 after a win over UConn yesterday morning. Here's how the 2015 recruiting class is faring in their final prep seasons.

Drew Berger, LB, 6'1" 223 lbs. (Couer d'Alene HS, Couer d'Alene, ID)

CDA remained undefeated with a victory over Ferris on Friday night. Berger had one INT and one TD in the win and on the year has 15 tackles (2 for loss), 2 INTs, and 4 total TDs. CDA plays Moses Lake this weekend.

Bryan Jefferson, WR, 6'0" 180 lbs. (Leesburg HS, Leesburg, FL)

Leesburg lost Friday's matchup against Mount Dora to move to 2-1 on the season. Jefferson continues to impress with his play, however, and he had 8 catches for 105 yards and two scores a week ago against Eustis. No stats were found for Friday's matchup, but through first two games, Jefferson had 15 receptions for 239 yds and 4TDs. Leesburg takes on West Orange this weekend.

Damion (DJ) Wright, S, 6'1" 185 lbs. (Salesian HS, Los Angeles, CA)

Salesian bounced back from a week 2 loss to Claremont and defeated View Park on Friday to move to 2-1 on the season. No full stats were found for the game, but it looks like Wright—who is playing QB for Salesian—had a hand in two passing TDs and three 2-point conversions. Prior to the View Park game, Wright had 58 rushing yards, 204 passing yards and 3 TDs as well as 5 tackles on defense. Salesian plays Loyola this weekend.

LaDarryl Blair, WR, 5'11" 170 lbs. (South Oak Cliff HS, Dallas, TX)

South Oak Cliff fell to 0-3 on the year after a 52-13 loss to DeSoto on Saturday and will look to right the ship this weekend against Wyatt. Last week, against South Grand Prairie, Blair caught 3 passes for 49 yards and a score and rushed for another 20 yards on just 2 carries. No stats were logged for the game against DeSoto.

Akilian Butler, WR, 5'10" 179 lbs. (West Mesquite HS, Mesquite, TX)

West Mesquite is a perfect 3-0 on the season after rolling over Red Oak on Friday night and have now outscored their opponents 166-36 on the year. Butler threw a 28-yard TD last week in a win over Wylie, but I couldn't find any stats for him from the win over Red Oak.

Brett Rypien, QB, 6'2" 195 lbs. (Shadle Park HS, Spokane, WA)

Rypien's Shadle Park squad is now 2-0 after a win over Richland on Friday night and a week one win over Fife. Rypien showed no signs of rust in Shadle's opener, throwing EIGHT touchdowns and two interceptions. On the road against Richland on Friday, Rypien tossed another 4 TDs to 1 INT and accumulated 338 yards through the air in a 36-24 win. Through two games, Rypien has passed for 766 yards and 12 TDs with 3 INTs. Shadle Park will take on Lake City in Coeur d'Alene this Friday, so if you're in North Idaho, you might want to go check them out.

Darrell Stewart, ATH, 6'1" 190 lbs. (Nimitz HS, Houston, TX)

Nimitz ended a season-opening skid on Friday night and are now 1-2 after beating Worthing on Friday night. Stewart did absolutely everything in the game for Nimitz—passing for 70 yards and a TD, rushing for 217 yards and 2 TDs and returned an interception 70 yards for the go ahead score with just seconds left in the game. Impressive. Nimitz will look to even their record when they play Atoscocita on Friday.

Garrett Larson, OL, 6'5" 250 lbs. (Fruitland HS, Fruitland, ID)

Fruitland now sits at 1-1 after defeating Ontario 28-6 in week two—the Grizzlies had a bye this weekend. Fruitland plays Baker this Friday.

John Molchon, OL, 6'6" 270 lbs. (Faith Lutheran HS, Las Vegas, NV)

Faith Lutheran moved to 1-2 on the season after losing to Clark on Friday night. They will look to even their record when they take on Cheyenne this weekend.

Stats are hard to come by...especially this season, so if you are a person in the know—such as a parent, coach, relative, or friend of a recruit—and have some stats...please send them our way.
