Wake Up, Bronco Nation: 5-5-14

Allen Versaw

Happy Cinco De Mayo, Bronco Nation! It was an action packed weekend. Records Broken, Seasons rolling and a nice sweep. Let's get started.

Emma Bates:

For many of you this name may not be a house-hold name, but it sure should be for every Bronco fan. Bates is a RS junior who has a resume to be reckoned with. Achievements; Bates this weekend breaks a record for the 10,000 m race in the MW that SHE set last year. She ran 10,000 m in 32:20.83 taking the 12th spot in NCAA history. This woman is something we all should pay some homage to.

Extra Innings to Sweep:

Softball swept New Mexico this weekend. This puts them in second place in the MW and one game behind first place with four games to play. These women have a great shot of heading into post season as the number one seed in the MW. Let's keep cheering them on.

Need For Speed:

Track showed a phenominal performance at the boarder clash this weekend. Bringing home 5 first place finishes along with other impressive finishes. Boise State has shown some serious strength in all sports this year and I'm excited to see where this takes us in the next couple of  years.

All right, Bronco Nation. I am sorry I don't have much for you. However, have a wonderful Cinco De Mayo and stay safe. Happy Monday and remember

It's Great To Be Alive, It's Great To Be A Bronco!
