Boise State women knock off 1-seed Grand Canyon
We'll open this Friday's link dump like we always do...with women's basketball news. The Lady Broncos knocked off #1 seed Grand Canyon 52-51 in the opening round of the WBI tournament last night behind Miquelle Askew's 13 points. The ladies will play Stephen F. Austin tomorrow night at 6 pm. I mean, I know there's a little disparity between men's and women's play...but it still seems like a tall order for this Stephen Austin fellow to defeat our hoops team single-handedly.
Wrestler Swartz into NCAA quarterfinals
Boise State's Jake Swartz won his first two matches at the NCAA championships to advance to the quarterfinals at 184 lbs.—and is the only Bronco grappler still alive in the championship rounds. Heavyweight J.T. Felix, the Broncos other representative at the NCAAs, lost in the second round, but still can work his way through wrestlebacks to claim All-America honors. Swartz will take on the 3rd-seeded Gabriel Dean of Cornell today.
Yates: Broncos' D played "OK" in first scrimmage
Damned with faint praise? Corey Bell, Donte Deayon and Darian Thompson having a good Spring.
Titus Young 'close' to plea agreement
Young hoping to avoid jail-time. Don't even have anything to say on this one—the whole Young ordeal gives me the sadz.
I didn't win the billion dollar bracket challenge
But, hey...neither did you. After the first day of the NCAA tournament, only .2% of brackets remained perfect and the biggest culprit was Ohio State...or rather Dayton. 81% of bracketers picked THE Ohio State to knock off the Flyers—a pick that turned out to be, well...madness.
Hipster test...how many bands at Treefort have you heard of? I failed (or passed with a whopping 9)
