Washington State fires Ken Bone; Leon Rice on his way?

Despite the disappointing season for the Men's Basketball Team, Leon Rice is still an intriguing candidate to many programs who will be looking for a new coach. The first school that may come a callin' could be Washington State.

Why Washington State? It's Leon Rice's alma mater for starters. A Richland, Washington-native, Rice also has strong roots in the state having served as the head coach at Yakima Valley College and as an assistant under Mark Few at Gonzaga.

Honestly, this is pure speculation that Leon Rice could be a candidate. But, it makes sense for a bottom-dwelling Pac-12 team with very few good options to pursue in terms of a coach who can come in and make an impact. At this point, it's just something to watch for the Boise State faithful but will likely be a yearly exercise akin to that of Coach Petersen. The problem with success at the MWC level is that head coaches will be in demand with teams from the Big Five conferences who can pay beaucoup bucks.
