A pretty good game all around. Defense was a focal point for the coaches during the offseason and the Broncos finally put together a solid defensive performance, on the road against the 1st place place team no less.

Dereck Boles hails from Lakeland (High), Florida, the same high school as current NFLers Ahmed Black (Buccaneers), Maurkice Pouncey (Steelers), Mike Pouncey (Dolphins), and Chris Rainey (Colts). How does a kid who is 6'2", 275lbs from a high school with four current NFL players virtually pass through recruiting unnoticed? Boise State was Boles' FIRST D1 offer which he quickly accepted. Patti Likely Leaving Boise State
As you probably have heard, Nick Patti's father has requested permission to have a chat with UCF about a roster spot on Nick's behalf. It's unfortunate because Nick WILL be a star wherever he ends up and Boise is State is left with one capable quarterback at this date. Hopefully, Ryan Finley will be healthy for Spring Practice while the coaching staff will most likely look to add a junior college quarterback as well as a true freshman signal caller on signing day.
