Now for some news and notes and wild speculation:

  • The big news is that true freshman Aaron Baltazar came into fall camp and elevated himself past Derrick Thomas and Devan Demas. I think Fields gets the first carries after Ajayi, but it'll be interesting to see Baltazar on the field from Day One.
  • Props to Charles Bertoli on making the two-deep. I profiled him in the Countdown. It's impressive to see a walk-on redshirt freshman crack the depth chart even if it's just on special teams. A real testament to his work ethic.
  • Grant Hedrick is still listed above Nick Patti. Will Hedrick be the "true backup"? Will he still have specialized run packages or will Patti take over that role?
  • As you can see below, only four seniors are listed on the defensive two-deep. This 'D' is going to be crazy good next year.
