NCAA places Oregon on 3-year probation
Basically, Oregon paid a guy $25k to get a star recruit and, as a result of getting caught, will now be placed on 3-year probation. Some other penalties were levied, but the most serious affected now departed coach Chip Kelly who received an 18-month show cause order. Way to rule with an iron fist Mark Emmert! That'll show 'em.
I remind you that Boise State football lost nine total scholarships over a three year period for letting incoming freshman stay on the couches of current players. We are horrible people for standing by such a tainted program. Boise State also received a Lack of Institutional Control ruling, but that mostly stemmed from violations from other sports.
It's now news for Boise State to lose a recruit to Nevada
