OBNUG Pick 'Em Contest: Eliminator picks for Week Two

Bye weeks suck, especially after a loss.

I guess the rational side of me says this is probably a good thing for the players who are probably banged up from the physical game against Michigan State. And it's probably even good for the coaches so they have time to break down, digest the film, and make the necessary adjustments. But as fans, bye weeks really suck.

I guess this has become sort of a habit for Boise State in the last couple of years to take a breather after a game like Georgia or Virginia Tech. But I guess I don't remember them as much since it gave us time to savor the win. Now it just seems like we can't put the loss at Michigan State behind us quick enough. I'm ready to get back out there (figuratively) and watch Boise State's offense get back to it's scoring ways.

Anyways, with a lack of Boise State football to watch, I'll be watching other games. And for this week I'm taking this to the bank:

(20) TCU over Grambling State

I'm playing it safe this week. I'm taking the layup.

The name of this game is winning. No matter what, your team has to win so I'm not going to start playing it cute this week. I still need a few more weeks to figure out these teams and who is good and who is not. I may be burning a team with plenty more wins under its belt, but I need a sure thing. Don't let me down, Gary Patterson!

Yikes! It appears I put far too much faith in Stanford, which is why I'm glad that pick is out of the way. I can already see I'm screwed here so I'll just go with what should be a gimme and choose TCU over Grambling. I'm toast in a week or two.
