Rumor: Mountain West Connection reports Boise State to stay in MWC; story disputed
The reporter is Chris Maathuis of Las Vegas KLAS TV Channel 8. He promises details on the decision, but more than three hours later nothing is posted. Here is the KLAS website:

We'll see how it goes, but if we're stuck in the MWC again then it is what it is.
I’d remind everyone that there’s a lot of opportunity to be emotional over this but there’s no real need. It’s CFB these days and nothing has changed in our situation. The MWC is still just a rest stop and we will still take the first ship leaving port if it doesn’t find a way to better manage itself and get more competitive. It was a gamble from the get go and one I think was worth taking. I still feel that way, it’s going to take some cojones to jump the gap between the haves and have nots, nothing will just land in our laps.

That's a definitive possibility. We could be playing hardball with them
knowing that if we’re out then so is SDSU and AF is definitely never coming. Still, hard to see the Big East balking this long and basically incurring a 7-21M dollar exit fee. Actually, the more I think about it, the less I believe that’’s the case.

Think about it this way...
You’re trying to get into the house of your dreams. If that fails, you’d like to get into a much bigger house. But to get there, you have to spend some time in a rental property. Right now, you’re staying in a rental property with people you know. It kind of reminded you of your dream house when you rented it, but now it kind of looks like the last place you lived. You didn’t like the cable options there, but that just improved slightly. And the lease can be terminated, with enough head’s up, for not unreasonable prices.
The other apartment you are looking at HAD better cable, but might have almost the same cable when all is said and done. It looked kind of like your dream house when you first visited, but now it kind of looks like a slightly better version of your current place. It is built on unstable ground and could collapse at any time. It is on the wrong side of town and isn’t big enough to hold all of your stuff. The neighbors are better, but you don’t really know any of them. And the buyout of the lease is going to get crazy, because the owners are worried about people leaving out of fear of the building collapsing.
So, which temporary place do you stay, knowing that your dream houses might not ever be obtainable?
