Selection committee to select teams for top 6 bowl games
Bill Hancock elaborated more on how the new playoff system will work. Apparently not just the top 4 teams will be selected, but 12 teams will be placed into the top 6 bowls. As for the timing of the games, it looks like the "Big 6" bowl games will be played on New Year's Eve and New Year's day while the new championship game will be played about a week after that.
Boise State's Kurt Felix named MWC athlete of the year
I'm a little unclear in this press release. Is this just for Track and Field? Felix will be competing in the Olympics for his home country of Grenada.
Boise State alumnus Jarred Rome makes Olympics in the discus
It will be his second Olympics. He competed back in 2004 for team USA. It's nice to have some Treasure Valley and Boise State rooting interests in the Olympics again.

He was a good man who also loved Boise State. He came to OBNUG in September 2009 and in the past few years racked up over 9,000+ comments. I'm sure he lived his life with the same passion. He'll be missed. Our prayers are with his family and friends.
